How to Fix Sour Coffee

Sour coffee usually means under-extraction. Increase extraction gradually.

Fast Fixes

  1. Grind slightly finer.
  2. Extend brew time by 15 to 30 seconds.
  3. Raise water temperature toward 95 to 96 C.
  4. Use a lower ratio number (for example 1:16 instead of 1:17).
